An Architecture Student’s Guide to Steepshot – Sndbox 008
Steepshot is an image sharing platform – with a difference.
It is run off the Steem blockchain, meaning, unlike Instagram where likes are just likes on Steepshot likes are money. Interested…?
Follow the step-by-step guide below to set up your Steepshot account and start posting.
Getting Started
1. Head over to alpha.steepshot.io and hit “Sign In”.

2. Next, scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Registration”.
3. This will display three options. Use “Register through Steemit” which is a free option.
4. Once clicked, it will open a new window for signup.steemit.com. Here, click “Sign up for free”, as it says this can take 1 to 2 weeks.
5. Finally, choose a username and continue to follow the sign up process. When you have completed this you will get a confirmation email anywhere from 24 hours to 2 weeks.
Uploading your work
So you’ve signed up, received your confirmation email and you can log into steem. Now you’re in a position to upload your work to Steepshot. Continue to follow this guide to find out how.
6. Head back to alpha.steepshot.io and press “Sign in”. Then enter your login information which you can find on Steemit, it will include your username and your private posting key. Note – make sure you never share your private keys as it will likely result in you losing your account.
7. Now you’re logged in! Your page will look something like the CritDay one below. First, why not head over to the CritDay page and drop us a follow: @critday. Then go ahead and click “Create Post”.
8. When you have clicked “Create Post” you will see the following:
Select your image, or drag and drop. Add your title, some tags (use #critday) if you want to be featured, then add a description. Your page should then look something like this:
9. Click “Create New Post” (at the bottom of the page).
10. And there you have it, your first post on Steepshot! Drop a comment below with the URL to your post and CritDay will upvote it.
